Just wanted to wish everybody a very Happy, Prosperous Ugadi! Happy New Year! Ugadi Shubakanshulu!

It is times like this when I really miss being around my family, relatives, and other Indian people. We used to celebrate by lighting firecrackers on driveways. No matter how cold it was, we would all light them and then run down the sidewalk, without a care in the world. Unfortunately, I have missed the celebrations the last few years. But, I hope to be able to celebrate all of them in the very near future.
Happy Diwali everybody! May this day bring you the best and the brightest only- Deepavali Shubakanshulu!

It is really amazing how far India has come in such a short period of time. They are still missing microwaves and washing machines, but their technology is definitely competitive with other major world markets- it’s quite phenomenal.
This past week, the news has seen a lot about India, especially NASA. India has launched its first space mission- so exciting! Then, a man in NYC said that a Lord Ganesha-shaped plant cured his illnesses- so amazing!!
Anyway, it’s great to hear about all of this and to see that India is making an impact all around the world, so I just thought I’d share the good news. :)
Today (well, yesterday officially) was yet another Telugu New Year. Happy Ugadi to all! Unfortunately, I had too much work to do, but I am happy that my family was at least able to celebrate and go to temple. It is occasions like this where I really miss being at home. There is a great Indian community at GT and I totally love it, but home is home. More later, though (since it is 3:10AM). Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite!
Happy Republic Day to all of my India friends. I am celebrating this by, first and foremost, wishing all of my friends a happy day. Secondly, I have been listening to songs from Indian movies. Mostly, it has been from Salaam Namaste and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. I love both movies: they are two of my favorite Indian movies. Anyway, the semester has started to pick up, but it still should not be as bad as the last few semesters. Anyway, my short dinner break has turned into a 1.5 hour break. I guess I had better hit the books soon again; otherwise, I will not have enough time this weekend to finish everything that needs to get done. The 7-hour software engineering meeting we had today was very productive today, though, so I am really happy about that. Anyway, I am missing my family very much on this Republic Day: they went out to Pizza Hut. In other news, Djokovic beat Federer in the semi-finals, and I hope he will win vs. Tsonga today. Go Djokovic: it’s your day!! :) On that note, time to finish up some work so that I can enjoy the match. Happy Republic Day!!
Today marks the 60th year of Independence for India! We went to an IAGB (Indian Association of Greater Boston) celebration, which was lots of fun.
Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Indians!! :)
I love being Telugu, and I just thought this is really funny! :)
You know you are Telugu if…
1) Someone in your family’s name is Srinivas.
2) You refer to a Tollywood actor as “mega star”.
3) Your grandparent reads Eenadu every morning while blasting the supra batham and drinking chai.
4) Your mom calls your father “yemandi.”
5) The only channels that are on at your house are Teja, Gemini, and ETV.
6) Your name includes Rao, Reddy or ends in neni, pudi, pati, or ganti.
7) You’re somehow related to at least 15 other people at this conference (TANA).
8) When referring to your career, you are either “in” computers or medicine.
9) You add “oo” or “lu” to the end of every other word.
10) Everything you eat is some “kaaya” and your mom can make a pachidi out of pretty much anything.
–You’ve gotta love being Telugu!! :)
